Snake and Slip-n-Slide

Don't worry, it's just a snake on a race car:

Last Thursday, Leigh Leigh came over to stay inside with Mae while I took Arabelle and Bo out to play on the slip-n-slide. I am WAY too out of shape to be slip-n-sliding....it wore me out and I came away with some bruises, but it sure was fun. :)

Father's Day 2013

We had a whirlwind of a weekend celebrating Father's Day. It was filled with family fun, good food, and swimming!

We started Friday evening by celebrating Sambo's birthday and visiting with family. Tripp and Bo both say that they are each other's best friends. They walked around the room at the restaurant saying "Bo is my best friend" and "Tripp is my best friend" over and over. Aren't they sweet!?

Saturday, we went to Pineview to celebrate Father's Day with Papaw and Grandpa. We spent the afternoon swimming, eating homemade ice cream, and having a good BBQ supper.

Papaw with 3 of his 8 grandchildren!

So thankful for a hard working Dad!

Bo is fearless in the water and is a great swimmer now!

Arabelle is a bit more hesitant, but is a good swimmer too. I think she'd be better if she couldn't stand up in the shallow end. ;)

They both do good belly flops!

Shark!

Quite possibly my favorite picture of Grandpa EVER! I love it. :)

Poor Jared didn't get a whole lot of special treatment for Father's Day this year. He did take a nap Saturday, but Sunday turned into a whirlwind of a day. He got up with the kids around 7. I just can't drag myself out of bed early right now when I'm up twice/night with Mae. We went to church, then Sambo and Leigh Leigh's for lunch. Bo was really whiny and clingy during church, which is unusual. We usually have a bit of trouble with him sitting still and staying quiet, but he was mighty cuddly. We realized at lunch that he had a fever. No other symptoms, but the fever was enough to make him feel pretty miserable.

We attempted a family picture, which just makes me laugh to look at. We'll remember how crazy this time in our life was when we look back on this picture.

The sun was too bright for Arabelle, Bo was miserable with a fever, and Mae was so overtired and overstimulated from the activities of the day. I remind myself daily that this is just a short season of our life and things won't always be so hectic. I feel like I'm sweating all day long chasing these 3 kids around in the June heat though!

I did get a sweet one with my girls.

Mae is 3 weeks old!

The weeks are flying by already (even though some days seem to drag by!). Mae is 3 weeks old today!

She weighed 10lb 3oz and was 22 inches long at her check up last week (17 days old). Both of those are in the 92nd percentile. She's right at the same size Arabelle and Bo were at the same age!

She is nursing well, every 2.5-3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night, and sleeping pretty well too!

Napping in the carrier while Arabelle and Bo play outside:

Mae went to church for the first time on Sunday morning, 6/2. She wore an outfit that was mine as a baby and Arabelle wore one of my dresses. :)

She has been awake for longer periods during the day this week, so she's gotten a little playtime on the floor. Arabelle and Bo had more fun though, I think.

Busy Times

Life is busy with a pre-schooler, toddler, and newborn! I'm so thankful for a phone with a good camera, because that's what is handy during the day for pictures and videos.

Arabelle and Bo went to camp at FBC Douglas last week, Monday-Thursday. They both had a lot of fun and enjoyed taking their lunch box (it's the simple things!).

One day they had their afternoon snack with Mae:

Bo was interested in sharing his tractor with her. :)

Friday morning we took a walk.....

and enjoyed fresh blueberries.

Arabelle has been giving Mae plenty of cuddles.

And of course, we've been doing lots of crafts.

Looking forward to another fun week ahead! :)

Spider Girl and Guitar Boy!

Arabelle has never been a climber. Some start climbing before they can walk, but Arabelle has NEVER been one to climb on the furniture, etc. Somehow she realized she can climb the door frames and is really good at it!

Sorry it's a shaky video....I couldn't stop laughing!

Several weeks ago (before Mae was born), we were over at friends' house for dinner one night and Bo really took a liking to their toy guitar. I had forgotten we had the video until I saw it on Jared's phone this week. He really gets the rhythm!

*And you can hear Arabelle bossing her friends around in the background. :p

Sisters

The entire pregnancy, Arabelle said that they baby was a girl. Her sister.

She was right and I was SO excited to tell her on that day. I wish we had made a video of her excitement.

She LOVES Mae and always wants to hold her and talk to her. I think she'll enjoy her even more when she's able to stay awake more in the daytime.

I am so looking forward to watching Arabelle and Mae together as they grow up!

*Not that Bo doesn't love his baby sister, but he's a BOY and he's TWO...... :)

Swimming

Arabelle and Bo had a great time at Mamaw and Papaw's house last week! They took swimming lessons each day at a pool nearby, then practiced their skills later in the afternoon for Mamaw and Papaw.

I'm not sure who was more worn out at the end of the week! ;)

I got lots of fun pictures sent to me during the week too!

One day, their 'treat' was stopping at the caboose in Pineview after swim. I think they may have liked the fountain better than the caboose.

*Yes, Bo is wearing a superhero mask. ;)

All tuckered out and still wearing the mask.

Flying high!

So proud of our two little swimmers!!
